Our very first Female Veterans' R&R was a great success. We had the honor of welcoming 6 beautiful combat veterans to Jupiter for some much needed R&R. The ladies enjoyed a week full of afternoon tea, crafting, a lighthouse climb, a river cruise, delicious meals and overwhelming appreciation. However, as with most of our retreats, the downtime is where the connections are made. Our participants come together and share many conversations about how their struggles have made them the strong women they are today. All of our Veterans left Jupiter feeling a sense of Renewal, and with that a new sisterhood of support.Our veterans felt so appreciated, in fact they shared that we are one of the very few organizations that provides this opportunity just for females. One veteran shared with tears in her eyes, that she had to leave her 6month old baby to deploy to Iraq, not knowing if she would ever return to see her child grow up. The struggles that these female veterans have had to overcome exemplify the true definition of a hero.
