Renewal Coalition 38th Retreat Day 1
Our 38th Renewal Coalition retreat is off to a great start! Today we had couples travel in from around the country including North Carolina, New Jersey, Washington, and Florida. Unfortunately the couple from Washington has had to deal with flight delays but will be joining us shortly after midnight tonight (Thanks Emilio for making the late night run to the airport!). Thank you to everyone who has sent your well wishes as well as your generous donations and time to help get this retreat up and running. A few of the guests who arrived early had time to paddle board and kayak this afternoon, and others spent time on the dock fishing and getting to know one another. We are so thankful to have another fantastic group and can’t wait to see what adventures the weekend brings.

We would like to give a huge thank you to Mike Bull and End Zones for the delicious meal that was provided tonight including roasted pork, mashed potatoes and green beans. Thank you to our awesome volunteers tonight, Terri Futch, Gabriel Tamburri, Joe Petroski and James Drewry as well as the Jackson family. We appreciate all of your hard work to help with setup and cleanup of the meal and for taking time out of your day to hang out with our veterans and their spouses.

Tomorrow the lineup includes breakfast hosted by the Eagles and Jim Kamen, golfing at Jonathan’s Landing, boating and snorkeling, and another meal at our wonderful host Jona’s home. We look forward to keeping you updated with the weekend’s events, and once again want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who contribute so much. These weekends wouldn’t be possible without you, and the look on the Veteran’s faces as they settle in and relax with a smile is proof that you are making a difference!

Renewal Coalition 38th Retreat Day 2
The second day of our May retreat was once again adventurous and a great time was had by our guests. After the rain showers passed through earlier, we were blessed with beautiful weather. The Jupiter Eagles hosted a wonderful breakfast this morning before we shuttled guests to various activities. Thank you to Bobby Symonds and Tom Hewitt for an entertaining day on the water with boating and snorkeling. Also, thank you to Bob Schaefer and Greg Adams for feeding our group lunch and providing them with a fun afternoon of golfing at Jonathan’s Landing. We are so thankful for our donors and sponsors who help to provide such outstanding activities for our guests to participate in while they are here.

Tonight we went to Jona DeSimone’s for a delicious Italian dinner and dessert. Thank you Jona for treating our veterans and their spouses like royalty. We would also like to extend a special thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to help tonight with setup and cleanup tonight: Doreen Haigh, Peg & Norm, Jeff Kaufmann & Jason, Laura Yonkers, Jacky Jackson, Rheanna Pages, Sara and everyone else! You help make things run smoother for us and we truly appreciate all of your hard work.

Tomorrow is another full day including time at the beach, brunch prepared by volunteers, dinner hosted by The Exchangette Club and maybe a few naps in the hammock.

Again, I can’t say thank you enough to everyone who helps to make these retreats possible. If I forgot to thank you personally, please know that your hard work and dedication to our mission has not been missed and we truly appreciate all that you do to help Renewal Coalition thrive.

Renewal Coalition 38th Retreat Day 3
Today was another great day for the Veterans and spouses attending the 38th Renewal Coalition retreat. We started the day off by having the guests sleep in a little later and then drove them over to the Jupiter Inlet Colony for brunch as well as a morning of relaxing and enjoying the ocean and beauty of the terrific scenery. Guests spent time searching for shells along the shoreline, swimming, snorkeling, and filling their stomachs with delicious food prepared by Terri Futch, Pat Watkins and Abby Brennan. Thank you ladies for making the morning so special for our couples!

In the afternoon we headed back to the property where guests spent time napping in the hammock, paddle boarding, kayaking, walking on the sandbar on the river, fishing, and enjoying time together. We had many awesome volunteers show up to help with our evening meal, and would like to especially thank our hosts, Linda Gore and the members of The Exchangette Club who came out to provide food and desserts as well as conversation and spending time with our couples. In addition, thank you to the volunteers who came to help with setup and cleanup, David Doumar, Joyce Domenico and “Mom”, Jacky Jackson, and Jack and Carole Prosuh. It was also a pleasure to have Glenn Galtere, George MacClary and friends Carl and Bill attend and spend time talking with our guests and getting to know them. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day and it gave guests a change to rest a little before another action packed day tomorrow. In the morning, the Eagles and Jim Kamen will be back to provide another remarkable breakfast for our guests and then the ladies will be heading out to DK Salon while the men head off to the Black Dog Fishing Charter for a day of deep sea fishing. After returning with lots of fish, the couples will have the opportunity to go out on date night thanks to the generosity of local restaurant owners.

As you can see, once again, these exciting retreat days would not be possible without the contributions and help of each and every one of you who give so much to help make it happen. We want to again sincerely thank all of you who have contributed in any way to help our 38th Retreat run smoothly. We appreciate you!!

Renewal Coalition 38th Retreat Final Days
We wanted to send out an update on the last few days of our 38th retreat. Day 4, which was Monday, began with another wonderful breakfast by the Jupiter Eagles and Jim Kamen, who was out to make delicious omelets once again. Following breakfast came a time of relaxation for the women as they headed to DK Salon where they were pampered with facials and new hairdos. Following this, they were taken over the Allure Nail & Spa for manicures and pedicures. They then spent the afternoon hanging out on property and resting up for date night. In the meantime, the men were out deep sea fishing on The Black Dog with Bill Taylor, who always finds the fish. They had a great time with lots of exciting catches to come back and share stories of. That evening, the couples were treated to a fantastic date night at 5 local restaurants who were so generous to host our veterans and their spouses. A special thank you to Café Chardonnay, Coolinary Café, Evo, Jetty’s, and Dive Bar for treating our guests to deluxe meals. Monday evening ended with a trip over to Jona DeSimone’s for an ice cream sundae bar and time in the hot tub. Thank you to everyone who helped to make Monday such a special and exciting day for our guests.

Yesterday, the guests packed up and headed home after expressing the joy they had experienced over the past several days here in Jupiter, Florida. There were several comments about how wonderful all of the hosts had been and how special the guests had felt during their time here. Thank you to each and every one of you who played a part in making this retreat possible. We could not do what we do without your support, and for that we are truly thankful.
